Book review: Life without limits

Reviewed by: Zainab Islam (Turbat)

It is one of the heart-touching books. When I read this book, my life became changed and I became compelled to read it twice. Life Without Limits is a book about a disabled person by the name of writer Nick Vujicic. He was born without limbs and he wasn’t able to do anything in his life.

In this book, the writer is saying that when he was born without arms and legs, whole the world was surprised and his mother was also his Nurse. When he was born, his mother said to the doctors that bring my child I do celebration because he was the first childhood of his parents but the doctor didn’t say anything after that his mother thought there is something wrong with my child.

She asked the doctors but doctors said nothing regarding this thing. Furthermore, doctors said to her that her child did not have arms and legs. His mother became upset to hear that her first child was physical disable. It was a hard time for his parents to face many difficulties due to his child’s physical disabilities. After facing challenges he motivated the whole world to show his disability and for a disabled person, nothing is tough exactly for an able person nothing is impossible. Finally, it is a book for those who can’t believe in themselves doing something but after reading this book one realizes everyone is easy for someone. People shouldn’t be worried about facing difficulties and never give up to be hopeful about their dreams.

Letter: Gwadar needs attention

By: Kareem Jan (Kolwa)

Gwadar is the district of Balochistan with almost population of 200,000. Unfortunately, it has been facing non-availability of drinking water, health services, educational facilities and increasing unemployment for some years. The government and its leaders are saying that they are working and bringing development in the city but yet nothing is seen. Still, people are buying water for drinking. On the other hand, the people of Gwadar and Hidayat Ul- Rahman talked about the rights of Gwader, started doing protests for the basic rights of the Gwadar people. He has truly taken a good step for giving the rights of people. I appreciate Hidayat ul-Rahman for his courage in demanding the rights and hope government will work on these problems.

Author: Noor Bakhsh Saleem (Turbat)

Oh BANUK KARIMA,

You are still alive in our hearts, you are not buried in grave rather in our hearts. You are immortal and you are the winner!
Because, you were such a woman who sacrificed herself to Balochistan, to her nation and to her motherland.

She was a Baloch human rights activist and she dedicated her entire life to Baloch and to her motherland. She was such a woman who worked day and night to bring revolution and campaigned by standing against the difficulties and hardships to face, fight and handle the tough situations. Even though, she faced many hardships, issues and also they threatened but she never gave up.

Oh, Brave Karima!
You were the beacon of lights!

You were the lights of hope!

You were the shiny star,

You were and you are the daughter of Balochistan!

You were the hope of hopeless!

You were the voice of voiceless!

You sacrificed yourself, you dedicated yourself for the motherland to bring peace for Baloch! Really you were a gallant and a brave woman!

Oh Banuk Karima, you left the temporary world forever but not our hearts. They killed your body but couldn’t kill your soul and ideology. You stood in front of your enemies like a lion, you fought with them like a tiger. And you motivated and inspired your nation how to live, die and how to struggle.

At last but not at least, you were that candle which burnt herself so as to light the way of others.
We always pay red salute to you because you dedicated your precious life to your Motherland, Balochistan. We feel proud and we feel proud.

Movie review: Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, an interesting and informative film for medical students

Reviewed by: Muneeb Maqsood,

This informative movie was directed by Rajkumar Hirani, produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and shared by Sanjay Dutt, Gracy Singh, Arshed Warsi, Sunil Duty, Jimmy Sheirgill and Boman Irani. The movie got released on 19th December 2003. However, Munna Bahi M.B.B.S is not a movie, it is an emotion for everyone. Many films earned money but this film won our hearts by watching father and son embracing each other at the end of the film. This scene lighted the complete movie.

To ahead, the film discusses several things among which “Love” comes. Love is such a feeling which even a small baby needs. In fact, love has the ability to turn two enemies into friends, did you ever notice this? Though someone has an ugly look, he loves, he gets handsome automatically because love gives him the look.

To discuss further, the film screened “Avoid giving up.” Once we fail, we quit. This is a culture we adopt, it should be stopped or unadopted because it prevents us from achieving our destinations. In fact, failure is a part of success and for being successful, one has to taste failure once. Avoid giving up if once you fail, keep struggling time again and again. As in the film, Sanjay took the responsibility of a coma patient, he treated the patient well and brought him back to the living world from coma. Many good doctors gave up but he did not.

Additionally, the best feeling of the film was when Sanjay hugged his father. According to him, when he hugged his father, he could not hear anyone’s voice. Even the director of the film had said cut but still they did not hear the voice of the director. The film became very popular by this sense.

After watching this movie, I realize the importance of loving others. This movie is especially for medical students and they should watch this movie and not only for them, everyone because it will not let your eyes be closed until the movie won’t get finished.

Article: Terrorism, the master to control the mind

By: Maryam Haji Ghulamjan

The word ‘Terror’ comes from the Latin word terrere which means “Frighten or tremble”.
And this ideology refers to the use of violence against random civilian or targets in order to intimidate or to create pervasive fear for the purpose of achieving political goals.

Oxford dictionary defines it as the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians in the pursuit of political aims.
Terrorism can take place for several and various reasons like the ethno-nationalism, discrimination, lack of socio-economic status, political grievance and many more.

It will be very affective on people’s lives as it causes a big fear in people’s minds and this is their mission as the terrorists are the masters of mind control. The terrorism will not cause a big materialistic damage, but they will become successful in their mission as their mission is the fear in people’s minds.

They get success mostly because of media and media shows the terrorist attacks as their trending news and terrify billions of people and shake political structures.

Since 11 September, 2001 every year terrorists have killed about 25,000 people globally, but unlike this each year traffic accidents kill about 1.25 million people altogether, diabetes and high sugar level up to 3.5 million people annually and air pollution kills about 7 million people, but still we fear the terrorism more than these.

The Paris attack of November 2015 only killed 130 people. The Brissels bombing of March 2016 only killed 32 people, and the Manchester Arena bombing in May 2017 only killed 22 people.

A few terrorist attacks such as the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over lockerbie in 1988 killed hundreds. The 9/11 attacks set a new record, killing almost 3,000 people. All the people killed and wounded in the Europe by terrorist attacks will still far short of the casualties in any number of obscure First World War battles.
But still they cause big storm of disturbance all over the world.

The government must focus on the clandestine actions and must find out who is financing and supporting them.
The media should avoid exposing with interest in front of public, and must not give them publicity because their mission is to get publicity, spread their threat and fear, and control the humankind’s mind. And the failure of terrorism is the success of the whole world.

By: Hawa Ali Bakhsh (Hopela)

Stray dogs are very common and seen in each street of Turbat. The residents within the city of Turbat are facing multiple troubles due to stray dogs. In fact, stray dogs are very much dangerous since they spread rabies virus. Shockingly, the municipal corporation, the concerned department has kept silent over this serious issue. Recently, the stray dogs caused multiple harms to public. Finally, I request the higher authorities to look into this matter seriously and treat the matter on urgent basis to save the citizens.
