Letter: Wasting time

It is a fact that time waits for none and it keeps on, no one can stop it. However, wasting time is not a good habit. In our society, there is no any value of time, students get late and teachers too. No punctuality ie seen in any sphere of life in Pakistan. People love to waste time.

It is my request to students that don’t waste time.

Letter: Educate the girls

Our beloved country Pakistan is progressing day by day but unfortunately, girls have not gotten their rights of education.
According to Dawn report, around 22.84 million children in Pakistan are out of schools and most of them are girls. The reasons can be shortage of girls’ schools or umpteenth girls are married in their early ages without completing necessary education.
It is my request to the concern authorities to establish more schools for girls with full facilities that they should avail the opportunity to get education.

By:Abrar Ahmed Baloch,

Kulbar, a mountainous stream caged in high mountains, is located in the north of Tump Tehsil of district Kech. The stream goes between the mountains and merges with the Nehing river to a point known as Apsikhan.

Kulbar is a blessed and magnificent piece of land with its unique properties. It is an attarctive and hearttouching spot for recreation and enjoyment. The poets of the region have admired its uniqueness in their poetries.

Interestingly, due to its popularity and uniqueness, people have linked the names of their shops, schools and sport teams to it.The people of Apsikhan, a village located at the bank of Kulbar stream, feel proud to put their surnames “Kulbari”.

Kulbar is the best and main point of hunting of Tump Tehsil. Hunting season, it is not empty of hunters. The place is famous for its tasty birds which everyone loves to eat like “SeeSeeg” and “Goardag”.

Similarly, Fishing is  one of the hobbies of remote areas people of Makuran. The stream of Kulbar is also well-known for fishing. People go to the stream side of Kulbar for picnic which adds to their joy and fun.

The blessed Kulbar is also a best site of catching honey. Every year, hundreds liters  of honey are caught in the mountains of Kulbar
. Because of its deliciousness the demand for Kulbar honey is very high. For search of honey people spend days in the mountains of Kulbar.

Apart from it, one of the prominent features Kulbar possess is dwarf palm. The leaves of dwarf are used for making uncountable Balochi traditional products which are used in daily lives. People of the nearby villages also use dwarf form leaves to build the roof of wooden houses and huts. Hence, it is useful in their lives in one way or the other.

Letter: Climate change and water

According to the world reports, Pakistan is in 15th position in climate change as well as climate change affected Pakistan by economically so because of climate change Pakistan loses 3.8 million dollars each year. Like the same, it has become a big challenge for Pakistan by internationally, Pakistan lost 9,989 lives. If we see in Pakistan, Pakistanis face most problems due to having undrinkable water for using. The main reason behind the dirty and polluted water is all because of industries near rivers whose polluted water gets mixed with our daily usable water. Besides this, there are compulsions to people to drink the polluted water because of having a low ratio of drinkable water in the country. Less water we have in the country is the reason of having no any dams to store rainwater. At the end, I humbly request the government please solve the water issue first.

Article: Neglected rural areas of Balochistan

By: Sawira Lal Bakhsh,

Life is getting very difficult for the residents of rural areas of Balochistan. People are facing different kind of  disadvantages and difficulties due to unavailability of facilities. It is estimated that around 780 women die each year during maternity in Balochistan due to lack of facilities. Undoubtedly, Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan by consideration of area but still the province has 28 hospitals, 550 BHUs and 90 childcare and maternity health clinics while 90% of these hospitals lack doctors. Besides this, due to broken roads in Balochistan, accidents had increased which has taken more than 8,000 previous lives in one year.

Coming toward the educational Institution, over 9,247 government run schools in Balochistan have no facility for drinking water while 9,838 schools do not have toilet facilities. The Balochistan province has over 13,000 primary, middle and high schools with an enrollment of 899,383 male and female students. Over 7,900 schools in the province do not have boundary walls while there are 5,296 one room, one teachers’ schools.Balnigwar is a sub-tehsil in Turbat and situated about 90 km away from Turbat city but due to broken roads the journey of one hour turns to three or four hours. Balnigwar is always being ignored by Politicians and they remember the Balnigwar in the time of votes.

Balnigwar has the population of 45,065 (2017:census) but still the domicile of Balnigwar has the lack facility of hospitals, roads and school teacher. There is a building of hospital but there is no doctors. Poor people travel Turbat city in a forced state to visit the doctors.
Due to broken roads and lack of doctors in Balnigwar many women lose their lives during maternity. A family get broken, children lose their mother due to broken roads. There are many people in Balnigwar like Rasool Bakhsh and Sheer Mohammad who lost their daughters due to lack of facilities in Balnigwar.

Each year umpteenth students leave Balnigwar for higher education because there is no teacher in the schools of Balnigwar. Teachers just take the salaries and sit in homes and the poor public send their sons in city for further study and find a boy for their daughters and marry them in a very young age.

Life is very hard for the poor people of Balnigwar. Men, women and children everyone’s life is very hard in the rural areas of Balochistan due to the lack of facilities and no one is getting their basic rights and no one is there to listen their voices.
It is the responsibility of the provincial government to show sympathy and dedication toward the native of rural areas and provide them their basic needs.

Letter: Stop Underage drivers in Turbat

Turbat; known as one of the most famous cities of Balochistan in regards of population. Its population is increasing day by day with an unstoppable speed. With increasing population, the ratio of underage drivers budged up as well that is causing multiple accidents all because of the unawareness of Turbat’s residents who give cars to youngsters in main roads and bazaars. The residents, despite all these, seem careless about the matter. The government, on the other hand, has maintained silence regarding this matter. As per rules, any child below the age of 18 is strictly avoided to drive cars. It is ultimately troubling the citizens. Therefore, it is my humble request to the public and government to not allow the children to drive in the main bazaars and rush traffic roads.

Story: Pride hath a fall

By: Faiza Fazal,

Once there lived a boy namely Kashif. He was very intelligent but he was very proud of his intelligence. Each year he was first position in his school due to which his teachers were proud of him. One day, a racing competition was held between the nearby schools and Kashif also participated in itThe day arrived and every student practiced well. For the winner, an award was there and all students were enthusiastic to win and get the award. From different schools, teachers had come as guests and judges. The race got started. Several people were watching and everyone motivated the students with their whistle. Finally, Kashif won the race. He was called for the award on stage.

One of the teachers handed him the prize and all the people loudly applauded for him. This made Kashif proud and considered himself the best. Unfortunately, he never helped weak students. When a weak study came to him, he scolded him and went away.
If a teacher asked a question to students, they did not know he made fun of them and laughed at them. This thing devalues Kashif in the sight of all teachers as well as all of the students. Everyone talked about the behavior of Kashif which bothered everybody. Keeping in mind that he was top in everything, he did not study at home. He was sure that again he would be the topper. His mother judged her son on how he is proud and he is not concentrating on his study at all. Exams were near but he was busy playing with his friends.

One day, his mom told him that his exam was near and he should have worked hard and study.
Next day, she advised her son affectionately “Don’t be over confident it leads toward failure and for getting everything hard work is required.” With full confidence he declared to his mother “Don’t be worried, this time again he will be topper.” He had a harsh lecture from his mother at night but he listened to the words from one ear and dropped them from the other one.

The Next morning, his mother woke him up. She prepared him for school by providing him with his backpack and tiffin. His bus came, he went to school. In school at recess time, a boy named “Ahmed” the classmate of Kashif was preparing for exam’s papers. Ahmed was one of the weak students of class but this time he had promised to his parents that he would be the topper. When Kashif knew about this promise, he came to Ahmed that he should not learn he must know that he would not be topper.

The Next day, Ahmad woke up very early. He went to school and Kashif was present too. When exam got finished again Kashif challenged Ahmed that just wait and watch he would be the topper once again. When the exam’s result got announced Ahmed was the topper.
Ahmad said to Kashif “You are a human being, do not bleed because no one is superior than others and hard work is the key to success and pride always hath a fall.” Kashif became ashamed and thought he must not be too proud and sure. Kashif begged forgiveness for his misdeed.Do not be too self confident and proud because something may happen to make you shameless.

Letter: A canteen is needed!

There is no any doubt that Atta Shad Degree College Turbat is one of the greatest institutions for high quantity and quality education in district Kech. It hurts to mention that in this enormous college, students on daily routine face bundles of problems all because of absence of canteen.

Furthermore, some students travel from far areas, like Kesaak, Shahrak, Saami and many more towards the college without having breakfasts in order to reach on time and gain the knowledge they need, for them absence of a canteen is the most worst issue as with hungry bally, it is tough to have the taught subjects stored in mind.

Lastly, it is my plea to the government and concerned authorities to take serious actions on this issue as soon as possible.

Zameer Aslam,
