Letter: Dasht Balnagwar lacks doctors

Author: Sajid KB (Dasht)

Dasht Balnagwar is the Tehsil of Kech district with an abundant population but the people of Dasht do not have health facilities and there are no doctors to treat the people.

Moreover, Dasht Balnagwar takes two hours to reach in Turbat because it doesn’t have proper roads in case a patient gets serious, he will be brought to Turbat city hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, many patients had demised on the way.

Additionally, there are two or three doctors but they don’t give duty and they just take their salary. The affluent people can go to Turbat or Karachi for treatment but necessitous people can’t afford to go to Kech’s hospital or Karachi for treatment.

Most importantly, it is the constitutional rights of every citizen to get health facilities at their door step but the departments and the government is not only violating the constitutional rights but also infringing the human rights bestowed in the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1973.

The people of Dasht Balnagwar are not only deprived of health facilities but also education, qualified teachers, pure drinking water and electricity; in addition, the government is not serious for resolving Dasht Balnagwar issues.

I request to the Health Minster and concerned authorities to stop the salary of the doctors who are absent from the duty and give facilities to Dasht’s hospital.
