Letter: Hungry Makran

Author: Hasina Shah (Hottabad)

To lead a life, one surely needs a source of livelihood and all the basic facilities. When it comes to the life of the people of Makaran, then we come to know that the only source of livelihood is only smuggling of diesel and petrol from Iranian border. I won’t be wrong to mention that nearly 80% population of Makaran depends upon border. What saddens me is that the border has been closed and militarized for almost one complete year. This has resulted in high poverty in the region. With unemployment, a number of social evils such as crime, robbery and many more are increasing rapidly.

This is a matter of great concerns, so that is why, it should be given special attention. The leaders of Balochistan should think about it and come forward with a solution.
