Letter: Horror in Sialkot

Author: Noor Bakhsh Saleem (Turbat)

It was indeed a day of shame for people and as well government of Pakistan which resulted that non Muslims are better than Muslims after doing such brutal act.

However, it is very unbearable that ritual of savage violence was enacted in Sialkot, Pakistan where mostly people are known Muslims. It is very shocking that a man was beaten to death and burnt on fire as he was alive.

On the other hand, the stone hearted animals took the body out on the road and make it on fire, where individuals on the scene, as if they were making a movie but it shows lack of humanity where they took selfies with the burning corpse. It really shows that there is no any rule and government in Pakistan to protect its citizens. The injustice action completely shocked the nation’s people and as well other countries too.

Hence, the government should take a serious action against them so that such cases would not happen next time.

Letter: Lack of doctors

Author: Hammal Zahid (Kolahoo)

Kolahoo is the Tehsil of Tump with an abundant population but the people of Kolahoo does not have health facilities and there are no doctors to treat them.

Moreover, Kolahoo takes four hours to reach in Turbat because it doesn’t have proper roads in case a patient gets serious. Unfortunately, many patients had demised on the way and there are doctors who are sitting at home and not aware to give duty. Just they take their salary. People can’t go to Turbat or Karachi for treatment but necessitous people can’t afford to go to Kech’s hospital or somewhere for treatment.

I humbly request to the Health Minster and concerned authorities to stop those salary who are absent from their duty and give facilities to Balochistan’s hospital.

Letter: Quetta needs more libraries

Author: Shahdad Afreeq (Turbat)

Quetta is the capital of Balochistan but this city is deprived from fundamental rights where people are facing many problems so far.

Further, it is very painful to say that the capital city needs libraries where student should be able to have self study. There is a library namely Quaid e Azam which is full of students and even some of them sit on floor.

Most of them belong to far areas and come in the city for higher education.

There are private libraries but the lower students cannot pay for it. Finally, I request to current C.M of Balochistan and concern authorities to concentrate on this matter and provide more libraries to the capital city.

Letter: Hungry Makran

Author: Hasina Shah (Hottabad)

To lead a life, one surely needs a source of livelihood and all the basic facilities. When it comes to the life of the people of Makaran, then we come to know that the only source of livelihood is only smuggling of diesel and petrol from Iranian border. I won’t be wrong to mention that nearly 80% population of Makaran depends upon border. What saddens me is that the border has been closed and militarized for almost one complete year. This has resulted in high poverty in the region. With unemployment, a number of social evils such as crime, robbery and many more are increasing rapidly.

This is a matter of great concerns, so that is why, it should be given special attention. The leaders of Balochistan should think about it and come forward with a solution.

Poetry: So, tell me, why to compete…..?

Poet: Adnan Maqsood

Everyone talks of getting high,

High for the sake of name,

Name which only defames,

So, tell me, why to compete?

     Jealousness takes place,

     Which breaks the unity,

     Burns power of togetherness,

So, tell me, why to compete?

The love which beholds a nation,

Is all gathered by helpfulness,

And vanished by competitions,

So, tell me, why to compete?

You know, the failure in us,

That is hatred of our beloveds,

     Caused only through competition,

So, tell me, why to compete?

Today we live like slaves,

Tomorrow the kings if,

We are kind to each,

So, tell me, why to compete?

Book review: The Alchemist

Reviewed by: Azum Adam (Balnigwar)

The book “The Alchemist” is a very famous book in the world. This novel book was written in 1988 by one of the Brazilian authors who is known as Paulo Coelho. It was initially written and published in Portuguese. It is an international bestseller and has been translated into more 70 languages. The book is only relatively having around 172 pages. The book is about a shepherd boy from Spain whose name was Santiago.

The theme of Alchemist is that the most prominent in the Alchemist is the idea that each person has a personal legend, a type of idea, fate or destiny and that each person can choose whether or not to pursue that legend. He had to keep efforts and could struggle about his destiny until he could not reach on his destiny. Without facing troubles and problems no goal can be achieved.

For anyone who reads not only to escape reality but also to understand reality, “The Alchemist” can offer the best of both worlds. The events of the novel sit just on the borderline of miraculous and the ambience is simply just not that of our humdrum teenage world. However, The Alchemist also supplies insight and inspiration that extends beyond Santiago’s Sahara and into all lives, whether young, old, or teenage. The Alchemist may not be your regular fiction book, but it most definitely still deserves a place on your bookshelf.

Letter: The flaws in education system

Author: Hammal Zahid (Kolahoo, Tump)

Education is a necessary source which helps people to succeed in every aspire of their lives. But there exists a lot of flaws in our educational institutions which are barriers to success. Although, it is a good decision to off the physical class, but the government has to think about the online classes in order to not waste the time of the students and engage them in studies. On the other side, education system in Balochistan is legging behind day by day and Covid-19 has worsened the situation terribly. I request to the Educational Minister of Pakistan to provide internet connection to the backward area so that they will be in touch with educational activities.
