Letter: Lack of public transports in Quetta

Author: Dinnar Haider

QUETTA is the capital of Balochistan which is considered as the hub for better educational opportunities. People from all over Balochistan come to Quetta in order to get better educational experiences. But, in Quetta, the students face a lot of problems regarding public transportation. In Quetta, there are only two means of public transportation including the rickshaws and the local buses.
Travelling in rickshaws is way too much expensive for students. Most of the times, the students travel by local buses. Travelling in local buses is very time consuming and in student’s life nothing is more important than time. Sometimes the students even miss their classes because of these local buses not only this most of the time these buses are overloaded as well. The students find it very difficult to travel in local buses. Thus, it is my humble request to the government to make a better and more reliable mean of transportation.

Story: Helping is blessing

By: Jabir Hassan

I will never forget the moment when I lost one of my eyes (my mother) for not being helped on time. I can forgive everyone for anything but that unforgettable moment will never be forgiven to this cruel world where there are people who never want to help the needy.

This was summer when I was joking with my mother and my life was full of happiness. We were gossiping with each other. Straight away, I found my mother lost in the deepest thoughts of her brother that she had not met in a long time.

“Mom, what are you thinking?” I asked confusingly.

“Nothing. Just remembering your uncle. You know, long ago, I could not see him.” My mother said.

“Do you want to go?” I questioned happily.

“If you take me.” My mother answered excitedly.

“Okay mom, get ready tomorrow, we will go.” I stated.

So, before going to my uncle’s house, I had to purchase something. So I left my mother at home and rushed to the market. A few minutes later I got a call that my mother was no more in the world.

Later, I found out that my mother had a heart attack and my friends took her to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, the car’s engine stopped working and then my friends shook hands for help but no one helped them until my mother gave up her last breath.

This is what I stopped thinking about the world and I realized that everyone in the world wants his/her own activities good but ignore others. The feeling has ended in the world and there is no feeling in humans. Please take interest in helping each other and spread the importance of helping because help is the only way to create happiness and end war.

So, from now on, help everyone you meet because when you help someone, the pleasure you get is just indescribable. You will get a never ending smile on your lips coming deeply from your heart. Therefore, always try to be a helping hand. You can only become handsome when you give your hand to some.

Letter: Hunting birds

By: Jabir Hassan

In Pakistan, birds are being killed openly and fearlessly by the hunters which is called to an illegal work. However, predators are demolishing nature by killing birds. In fact, birds bring beauty to the sky and their voices make everyone’s morning wonderful. Unfortunately, we are failing to hear the sound of birds and to some extent it reaches our ears as the bird population is declining day by day. Reality, people made hunting their passions but remember killing a creature is not a passion but murder. That’s why, our government should make a law to punish those who kill creatures.

Letter: No Internet facilities

By: Imran Sattar Nigwari (Balnigwar)

THE government is busy developing 5G technology, but still most of the backward areas in Balochistan are devoid of internet services. The government of Balochistan needs to realize that in an age where technological innovation has taken precedence, progress and development is not possible without such facilities. Bal Nigwar is a sub-tehsil of Kech district where basic internet facilities are not available.

People believe that this is a huge obstacle that restricts them from moving forward. It is hard for them to keep up with everyday news around the world while most of the time they are aloof of the happenings across the country.

A plethora of different educational video with visuals, found on the internet, can be included in the syllabus. It can help children learn faster and more efficiently.

Therefore, I request the provincial government to provide  adequate technological and internet facilities to the people of Balochistan so that they can grow and prosper like the rest of the nation.

Movie review: Mairaj Mureed’s movie “Babo 2” highlighted the most heinous issue of Balochistan, lack of interest among students in study

Reviewed by: Balach Wahid,

Mairaj has directed, edited and written several Balochi films who is highly appreciated since he worked keenly in films for the promotion of Balochi language and successful to highlight the emerging issues of Balochistan.

Apart from this, Babo 2 is discussing the ongoing issues of Balochistan (No well trained teachers) as well lifting the respect of Balochs in regard of hospitality or granting suggestions of being hospitalized with guests.

Before moving further, we should be cleared that Balochs are well known due to their essential tools of hospitalizing the home guests. However, Balochistan history witnesses that Balochs were totally brave and well respected being a guest of a Baloch.

The 23 minutes of this movie has described that how teachers are corrupt and are uneducated and failed to secure well literacy skills because they pay money for securing jobs.

In the movie, a teacher was teaching his students, he received a call from a Sahib who inquired whether the teacher has made his presence in school or somewhere else. Before ending the call, the teacher said,“ I will have an DPO in Jusak where I can be able enough to be rich very soon and play with with billions. ” The Sahib cleared,” If I get half percent advantage then no need of paying your precious time on such broken schools since I will ultimately witness that he has performed his duty sincerely.” How Balochs can progress if all are corrupt. The all villages’ schools witness that they confiscated of education facilities.

According to Alian’s report, mainly 5,000 schools are without teachers and 6,000 schools are held by single teachers, therefore, students are failed to enroll in schools and impart their interest with books.

Without schools, the unroll students do cause several types of crimes as harassment of innocence, child abuse , begging, robbing and so on. Therefore, I urge to the government to pay attention on such valuable issues.

Book review: Man’s search for meaning

Reviewed by: Zahra

“It doesn’t matter what we expect something from life but rather what life expects from us.”

Man’s search for meaning is a book which was written by an Austrian Jewish psychiatrist named Victor E. Frankl who spent several years of his life in concentration camps during World War ll. He was born in 1905 and studied neurology and psychiatry at the university of Vienna. He wrote 39 books and he is considered to be one of the moral heroes of the 20th century. The English translation of Man’s search for meaning got published in 1959 and this book soon became an international bestseller and more than 4 million copies got published of this book.

Number of people are interested to read this book because of his story of triumph over difficulty. Specially, this book is for those who want to search of the truth that how a man can overcome adversity.  This book was one of the greatest books for me to find courage in my life. This book has a great contribution in my life because it really changed me. It provides us great theories and evidence. This book has been divided into two sections.

The first is titled “experiences in a concentration camp” and the second is titled “logotheraphy in a nutshell”. However it has been told in the book that if we have a purpose in our lives, means we can overcome adversity in a great way because when we have purpose in our lives, it becomes easier to find meaning in our lives. Moreover, Frankl’s wife and most of his family members were killed in concentration camps and he was served badly with other prisoners.

In his surrounding, 24 hours people were dying due to hunger, due to gases and some by these situations lost hope and courage but for Victor Frankl every moment was meaningful because he always focused on people’s behaviors. He has mentioned in the book that like him also there were a lot of prisoners who didn’t get disappointed and even found happiness in the sorrow and for these kind of people situations are like challenges. Actually in concentration camps, the dreams of people were snatched and the remaining thing was the choosing ability how people reacted in these situations.

Furthermore the real meaning of living is to suffer because if there is a purpose in life also in dying and suffering there is a purpose but no human being on Earth can tell what the purpose is because everyone’s purpose is different and the work of people is to find that purpose as take the responsibilities. Due to Frankl, the meaning of living is to find the answers of real problems and to be responsible for everything that is important. Frankl said in the book “We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting their last piece of bread. They might have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing the last of the human freedoms.” It means to choose someone’s attitude in any condition as to choose one’s own way. He has also told in the book that what we have in our lives if we have nothing of the world who are we if we do not have our degrees, our family, our home  and our name? If all are taken from us, what defines us? What keeps us going ? And why?

Another he has told that during his psychiatric work he found some patients that meaning was very important in their lives and the one who doesn’t have meaning, they would have the problems of anger and were depressed. He also said that meaning did not mean a comfortable life, success or money. In today’s world if we see mostly people want to live, but they have no reason to live and Frankl has named this situation ‘Existential Vacuum’. The one who are suffering from this they would have 3 symptoms of this.

1. Depression .

2. 2. Anger.

3. 3. Addiction.

4. On top of at all, due to people’s observation basis a new therapy was named by Frankl is known  ‘Logotheraphy’ which means ‘meaning therapy’. Like a guide , this therapy guides people and helps them to find the purpose and meaning of life. Frankl has said that we can find meanings in our lives by three ways.

5. 1. To do some work or to pursue a goal.

6. Because if someone doesn’t have a goal in life, he wastes his life aimlessly. Frankl said that if you are passionate for everything, make it the mission of your life because if you don’t have a passion , hobby or interest, you cannot know what your goal is.

7. 2. To make good relationships.

8. For Frankl love and relationship were two different things.

9. He said for him love doesn’t mean to have lovely feelings but instead real love is to recognize the real potential such as to make opportunities for children, to understand their brothers and sisters about their lives, to support their friends when they are alone. This is love. Specially no one on earth can know the other person’s nature  until they don’t love them. 10. 3. To bear your suffering and take its responsibilities.

11. Frankl has given his own example and said that when he was suffering, he imagined myself giving lecture on psychology. Due to this, his all pains and sorrow got filled with meaning. In addition, he also advised us that when we are in difficulties or feeling bad, we must find a use of that problem and ask ourselves how can we make this situation valuable?

12. He also said that we can’t avoid our pains and disappointment but suffering is a choice and is dependent on you that you compare your suffering with a lucky person means who is not suffering or you compare your sufferings with the one whose experiences are worst than you and feel lucky with your life.

Every person in the world faces this situation if they are in concentration camps or in normal lives and if only you don’t give up or complain, you can find the inner things which can make you feel happy.”It is what we make if what we have, not what we are given , that separates one man from another.”
