Letter: No attendance list in college

By: Muneeb Maqsood (Singanisar)

ATTA Shad degree college Turbat has successfully completed its 50th anniversary but still lacks attendance list for the students. However, I am one of the regular students of this college and it breaks my heart to behold other students putting their attendant on the pages and handing over them to the teachers. It does not have any attendant register where students put their attendance every day. Moreover, attendant list plays a wonderful role in any educational institution since witnesses whether the student was present or not in the institution. In fact, it is shameful that DEO is not aware that what is ongoing in the educational institutions as well as it is also very shameful for our college that it does not afford for a proper attendant list. Thus, it is my plea to DEO to visit or send visitors to each institution of Balochistan because it is his duty.

Letter: Empowering women

By: Iqra Saleh (Turbat)

WOMEN are living in such environment where they are the victim of poverty, debt bondage, slavery, forced marriage, honour killing, domestic violence, abuse and malnutrition. They are also deprived of health and education services and kept away from economic and political opportunities .On the other hand, there is no any protection law for women and they are no more considered human beings. The men always consider them less even without thinking that their lives are incomplete without women. They are the one who make our lives complete. When we glance to Sindh, more than 70 percent women are working in agriculture sector. Still they and their children are the victim of poverty. The protection of women and girls in rural areas are more worsen. They are completely ignored in every field. So, the government should empower the women and let the country to be developed.

SMOKING cigarette has effected several lives of people in Pakistan and today when we have a glance over complete world everyone is connected with it. However, smoking effects everybody’s livers and especially lungs. In Pakistan, it is estimated that the prevalence of tobacco smoking 36% from males and 9% from females. Among young adults especially the university students.
Approximately 12,00 children are smoking in the modern era. And every year more than 16100 people are killed by tobacco which is caused by diseases. If we continue the same, probably our new generation will be involved with these activities.
To sum up, It is my humble suggestion to government of Balochistan (Jam Kamal Khan) that kindly protect the small kids under 18 ages who are being victim of it.

Letter: Baloch and culture

By: Siraj Baloch (Meri, Turbat)

NO doubt, in today’s current globalization, a nation is known through its culture. As ones, it ruined and crumbled, the entire nation would become worthless among all countries.
To talk about the Balochi culture, it is declared the most authentic and famous one around its regions even in most parts of the world.
But it is very saddening to mention that today’s young generation Balochs are not following their own culture, are following other cultures and it seems that we are going back to the field of culture.
Therefore, I would like to draw the attention of the young Baloch generation kindly go through the footsteps of your own culture in spite of having others’ ones.
To make one’s culture greater and stronger is to follow it eternally.

Letter: Balochistan needs double roads

By: Mustafa Fida, (Turbat)

THE richest province of Pakistan is crying for double roads because everyday accidents are occurring and people are dying due to single and narrow roads. However, roads are as narrow as two small cars cannot pass at the same time. If we have a glance in Balochistan, there is not a single day passed without accident occurring in Balochistan. The recent case brought tears in everyone’s eyes when a bus met with an accident on the highway of Punjgoor due to single roads and 14 people were dead and majority were injured very badly. In fact, owing to single roads, traveling has become very horrifying for the residents of Balochistan.

According to a research, duration of three months, more than one thousand people have lost their lives because of road accidents in Balochistan. I plea to the CM of Balochistan to provide double roads to Balochistan and save their lives.

Letter: Cancer in Pakistan

By: Gul Bahar Washdil (Turbat)

CANCER is an issue all over the world especially in Pakistan which is a developing country. Cancer is an uncontrolled growth and spread of effected cells. It can effect almost any part of the body like lungs, stomach, liver and also the external organs of the body like the mouth and breast cancer which is too common in females. It is estimated that around 30,000 new individuals suffer from cancer every year in the country.
There is a lack of treatment in Pakistan due to which in Pakistan many people are losing their precious lives. Cancer has emerged as a major health threat in Pakistan which has never been given attention by the concerned authorities. It is my request to the government of Pakistan to establish cancer hospitals and create more awareness among people.
