Blog: Time to change myself

By: Shadri Aslam Shah

I was afraid of my life. I felt very sorry to myself and my condition that what I was; full of ego, wanted to stylish, look beautiful, etcetera. Yes! this is my story which began and my life’s troubles started. I hate myself because of arguing to my parents over tiny things.

I was truly a good student. I never talked in class and never behaved rudely, which was really satisfactory. When I was in my primary classes, I was a good student and a position holder in the class. Because I had good friends. But they were very mean (and I hope they will be good someday in future).

When I was in my fifth grade, I was stupid and silly. Because I had new friends. I never gave attention to my class. I was kind of a genius student in my class. But I did not give attention to my class, which made it a serious problem to me. If my parents knew about it, so it would be a very big problem and they would scold me. My biggest mistake was that I never wanted to be changed.

Actually, I thought I was cool, but I was not, rather I was stupid. Although I was never failed before, but in my fifth grade I was failed in many class tests. I also failed tests in my English academy. I felt very sorry for myself. What I was. I did not know what kind of a student and a person I had become. I realised it late that I was wrong. So, I worked to change my hobbies and friends. I did not sit with my friends who were not used to reading and did not care for me either.

I am sorry today for what I was. But I promise to myself I will change again. This is the hardest time I am going through in my life but I will change very soon, I promise. What I was and what I am are two dimensions. But I will change and be what I was.

Blog: Girls in Sharak demand quality educational system

By: Rida Qadir

Sharak is a famous village just because of its natural beauty due to its mountains and farms. Sharak owns two schools for its residents, one high school for boys and one middle for school girls. However, due to the increasing proportion of female students, the Girls Middle School Sharak needs to be upgraded. Children from nearby areas are also attending the school. In addition, there are more than 40 students in each class due to lack of space and attention from the teacher, some students get confused duration of the teaching.

However, it becomes difficult for the teachers to control the overload classes with 40 students. In Sharak, after girls complete their middle school, they are enrolled in boys’ school, which restrained the girls to study in the same class with boys.

Most female students in Balochistan suffer from inequality and are not given full rights and the same is happening in the South of Balochistan. In fact, the teachers in the girls’ school do not perform their duties honestly and always leave the class before the time by making excuses. In addition, no high-ranking officials visited the school to see if the activities were functioning well or not.

In fact, several girls have been failed to complete their middle section and leave due to worst environment of the institution and ignored to be the member of such irrelevant education system of Sharak.

Therefore, the education authorities should visit the school and to solve all the problems including upgradation of the school so that the girls of the same gender can complete their higher education from their own school.

Letter: Public health

The public health issue is very serious problem in Pakistan. The death rate is high as compared to other countries. Mostly, the women and child mortality rate is even higher. The government has taken measures to improve the public health conditions such as malaria and smallpox eradication programmes, immunization and polio vaccination programmes. However, fundamental health units, hospitals new medical colleges have been established and arrangements for the training of nurses and health visitors have been made. Furthermore, there are facilities for expanding medical education at postgraduate level within the country and sending doctors abroad for further research. Despite these measures, the public sector in Pakistan is suffering from many challenges. It is my request to the government to take serious action about this issue.

Letter: Lack of doctors in Turbat

In fact, Turbat is the second biggest city in terms of population but lacks qualified and competent doctors. In governmental hospitals, some doctors are appointed but they treat the patients poorly, whereas the same doctors suggest the patients to come in private hospitals for full treatment. Citizens are suffering a lot as they cannot afford the bill of private hospitals and laboratory of private hospitals have become a lucrative business.

Finally, I request the concerned authorities to solve this serious problem.

Letter: Fake medicines

In Pakistan, most of the medical stores are selling fake medicines which can cause diseases and also can affect the health of people. In Mardan, a place in Pakistan where 15 medical stores were sealed because of selling fake medicines including the kids’ ones. This is a bad sign because the fake medicines can be harmful for us and also because of these our immune system can be damaged. In Pakistan, many people sell fake medicine to earn money. I would like to request the government to take serious action upon this.

Letter: Benefits of newspapers

The newspaper is a greater treasure for the people than millions of gold. Newspaper is the greatest thing in the world which is a modern phenomenon.

A newspaper comes out and supplies all kind of news of home and abroad. However, newspaper plays a vital role in our lives. Because, people can know the current affairs of the world through newspaper. By reading newspaper, people can learn new vocabularies, languages and know the news of games, sports and many more.

Moreover, China was the first country to introduce newspaper. There are various kind of newspapers like, daily, weekly, and monthly. Newspaper is a story house of knowledge and without newspaper life is boring .
Therefore, it is the best source to read newspapers at least once in a day.

Letter: Career counselling

As a developing nation we face issues such as counselling the students at schools, colleges and university levels. Apart from the poor career counselling, the never ending pandemic has created psychological and emotional problems among the students. The experts must be able to identify then be in constant touch with all those students who are facing hurdles in life and having psychological issues. We should make our moves quickly in the regard before the students’ mental health deteriorates any further.
