Teachers are the main sector of developing a country’s economy but in Dasht there is no teacher to teach the students. When teachers are appointed in Dasht, they do not come but they take the salary. Government has been failed to have any survey to know the situation of students and availability of teachers. I request to the government to terminate these teachers and pay attention toward the students and provide them honest teachers.
Baloch nation has a priceless and unique culture. It is completely different from other cultures in the world. It has a variety of traditions including embroidery, hospitality, fraternity, solidarity, Balochi Dochapi, Balochi language etcetera. Further, Balochi culture is well-highlighted across the globe for its attractive and lovable traditions and customs. However, recently the students of Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) have conducted a program where Baloch males and females together represented one of our cultural traditions, Dochapi. Honestly, their cultural performance was end in itself which also went viral in social media where people appreciated their unprecedented performance.
Secondly, as far as I am concerned, it is the first Dochapi which has been ever performed by males and females together. It was something superb for the promotion of Balochi culture across the world. On the other hand, many people have also criticized it. They consider it out of the culture decrying the participation of girls in the performance saying that only men are meant to dance the cultural tradition. They have commented that “they feel ashamed” for this “non-cultural performance” as males and females are performing together. Howbeit, it is not out of the Baloch culture rather it is one of the essential parts of our culture. Unfortunately, it has never been performed together, which is why some ‘illiterate people’ do not include it as a cultural performance.
To add more, their meaningless criticism eliminates the roles of Baloch women in the culture. Actually, Baloch women have various roles in the culture accordingly. If Baloch women are not allowed to demonstrate their cultural roles, how can others know and follow our culture? Women are very powerful and they are the essential part of any society to highlight their culture as well as to represent their country. Every woman has the right to do what their culture allows. If the culture allows something to men, why does not it allow the similar thing to women? Is culture only for men? Most importantly, today English culture has spread rapidly in the entire world. Because women have played their pivotal roles for the promotion of their culture. Today English culture is followed in many countries as well as in Balochistan.
In recent days, a large number of Baloch women wear English cultural dresses and follow their hairstyles. If English women were not allowed to demonstrate their culture, would Baloch women or anyone else adopt their culture? Definitely not! Similarly, if we limit our women in household works, can anyone know and adopt our culture? Most eminently, why don’t you (critics) denounce some other routines which are totally out of our culture namely: wearing noncultural dresses, strange hairstyles and mixture of English words while speaking Balochi? However, in the circle of culture everything is acceptable either performed by men or women and the recent performance in LUAWMS is appreciable and this is a part of our culture. It is mandatory for each Baloch to know their culture and follow it accordingly.
Makran is very notable for the improvement of different sorts of dates which are delighted in by a bigger piece of people. The date farms contain a couple of kinds of date trees which produce different dates rich in taste. These dates, which are considered to be the most eminent results of Balochistan, have different names, some of them which are pashnah, mozati, shakari, begum jangi, shakarok, aleeni, koroch, rogini naa, aap-o-dandan, kaleed, postho, dandari, dastari, naren rogini, hussaini, chapsuk, sangiskanz and a couple of more which are well known any place at excessive rates.
Moreover, the Balochs make various kinds of pastries from those dates with different inclinations like, haarag, sheerag, chaangal, muther and more The dates season comes once in a year in summer with delightful normal items for us. This is the season when the meandering factions move to farms for grouping of dates for their perseverance.
Pakistan’s serious and concerned issue is climate change. Pakistan is among the top 10 countries most vulnerable to climate change despite only being responsible for less than 1% of global carbon emissions. Due to climate change, the weather patterns are terribly changing and it is bringing huge impacts on people’s health. However, according to the WHO, every year Pakistan counts multiple victimized people from various kind of diseases because of climate change. Therein, Pakistan requires proactive steps to control this issue. In place of planting trees, people of Pakistan have terribly chopped down the forests every year. The government needs to ban cutting the forests and begin to plant more and more tress, and protect the environment from harmful harms which can bring impacts on climate.
Balgater is a giant area in terms of population and land in Kech district. It had a thick population out of which 9.5% people were left uneducated in the past. People back then paid no heed to education and neither did they ask for it. However, today in the modern age, the scenario and time have changed, but unfortunately, the same policy towards the area is utilized even now with intensity. Government still seems not fixing the town’s educational woes. Despite the fact that acquiring education is the only way which can lead a nation to the brightest and highest bottom of the peak, the inhabitants of Balgater cry for a proper education set-up. It is, on the other hand, the fundamental right of every citizen to achieve education as it is believed to be the mere source to escape corruption, making lethal culture and so forth.
Balgater has been completely deprived from getting its basic rights amidst covering a great portion of Kech district. It is also wholly backward, but who to put glance over it? Who to ask for the grievances of the town? Who to solve the local issues? Due to a no-education from the word go, most families of Balgater are yet unaware of the importance of education in a person’s life in this growing age. Had they ever been to schools themselves, they could guide their children with the significance of education today.
In contrary, many parents in the town believe that it is better their children have sheep, cows, camels, goats and fields so that they may pass decent lives. But they are not aware of the bright side of education. Due to this major problem, they have imposed some decisions on their children which have been eradicating their lives and society.
On the other hand, there are a few parents who know the value of education now, since they have been passing miserable lives. So, they want their children to attain a quality education so that they may not pass pity lives like them in their future. Sadly, they cannot afford to send their children to other cities for an education, and here one cannot see good schools where one can get good education. If there ever exists a school, it would have shortage of teachers and other facilities. In the entire Balgater, we can only find five primary schools and a high school; four of the five primary schools have no shelter.
Tejaban is the Union Council (UC) of Balgater which is smaller than Balgater in term of population; it is 80 kilometers away from the town. To be very fair, Balgater itself deserves to be a Union Council. Since whatever funds are there for Balgater, they are not being given to it by its UC. Therefore, the youth of Balgater are showing more interests towards using drugs. At every home, one finds two or more than two members using drugs which portrays the destruction of the town. If there is no any prevention of it, Balgater will completely be in its corner in upcoming days. Now government of Balochistan must show sympathy towards the town and solve the issues in order to save it from falling prey to being ruined.
Breast cancer is one of the biggest diseases in Pakistan. It is a phenomenon that every year more than 40,000 women are dying due to breast cancer. It is a very major issue for women. However,Pakistan has the highest rate of breast cancer where almost 90,000 cases were reported and more than 40,000 deaths because of breast cancer. Furthermore, the prodigious sake of growing breast cancer is a shortage of health facilities and social taboos. It is requested to the government to take strong action about this issue and protect the lives of lives.
The citizens of Gwadar have long been deprived of water because of which they are faced with several difficulties. The situation has further deteriorated due to low levels of rain. In the last few years, many regions of Balochistan have experienced little to no rain. Approximately, 70% of the population of Balochistan have been affected by acute water shortage. Gwadar has been at the forefront of the water crisis. Shortage of water threatens the livelihoods of citizens. According to a UNDP study, shortage of water has had a detrimental impact on students. They are unable to focus on studies, which result in poor educational outcomes.
The Ankara dam was built in 1994 to facilitate a population of 35,000. Since its construction, it has dried up at least four times. The absence of maintenance has resulted in a loss of half of its capacity. In the last two years, three Chinese-funded dams have been built with two more under construction as part of the CPEC project. However, these dams are not connected to the city yet. Although Gwadar has several beaches, the seawater cannot be used for plantation because it is saline and will not be appropriate for irrigation. Between 2015 and 2016, a desalination plant provided the city with 1.1 million litres of water of the intended 7.5 million litres. Currently, there are no operational desalination plants in the city. Water tankers from the Meerani dam have been used to meet the needs of the citizens of Gwadar. However, this cannot be a permanent solution to the water scarcity.
Time and again, the residents have protested and called upon government officials to resolve the crisis. But their calls have fallen on deaf ears. The government needs to adopt measures to tackle the water crisis at its earliest.
Safety of village people in Balochistan is the most important thing which is needed a lot. There must be full safety for them and not only their lives as well their needs must be fulfilled. In villages, the people are suffering from various problems including electricity problem, water and many more. The safety of village people can be the safety of the country. It is important to take care of the people of the village as well. I request the government to give facilities to village people to solve their problems.
After Quetta, Turbat is the second largest city of Balochistan but it avails just one library for the students. The absence of library really skips the learning process of students and teachers. Most importantly, they face more problems when they need to prepare for a difficult test or examination. On the other hand, there is no doubt that well-equipped libraries are needed for gaining knowledge as they change the destiny of a nation. The authorities need to pay a serious attention to this problem so that the students should continue their learning process.
